2007-2008 New York State 4-H Shooting Sports Air Rifle Postal Match

When:
November 11, 2007 to February 3, 2008

What:
10 Week Sporter Air Rifle Postal Match (extra weeks are scheduled to allow for holidays or poor weather)

Where:
Your own facilities

Who:
Any 4-H Shooting Sports Program in New York, New Jersey, and Vermont. All members aged 6-19 actively participating in your program. Counties may impose stricter guidelines.

Why:
Friendly competition between counties without the hassles of traveling, and ranking for our 4-H youth within the state

How:
Shoot a 3-position match each week at your facilities using the AR-5/10 (one shot per bull) or the AR-5/5 (two shots per bull) official targets. Shoot ten shots in Prone, ten shots in Standing, and ten shots in Kneeling positions. Follow the rules set forth in the 2006-2008 National Standard Three-Position Air Rifle Rules, especially Section 8.0 Scoring Targets. When using the AR-5/5 targets, it is perfectly acceptable to use a separate sighting target for sighting in. When utilizing this method, reduce the shooting time for score by 5 minutes, and allow the shooters 5 minutes for their sighters.

This will be a Sporter Air Rifle Postal Match only, so only the following rifles will be allowed: Daisy 753/853/953, Daisy 888,887, Crosman 2000, Daisy XSV40 with the cheek-plate and butt-plate in the neutral position, and Air Arms T-200 that has a non-adjustable cheek-plate and butt-plate.
Also, the Daisy 845 Mentor may be used by shooters less than 12 years old.

Each week, e-Mail your scores to bc4hss@dishmail.net no later than Wednesday. If you take a by, due to a holiday or bad weather, e-mail me and let me know. Just remember, we need to have 10 weeks worth of scores by February 3, 2008. Include each shooter’s Name, Age, Scores for each position, and Rifle Model used. Shooters will be ranked by age groups (6-8, 9-10, 11-12, 13-14, 15+), and the top 4 scores for each week will be used for your tea m score ranking. The shooter’s age will be their age on November 11, 2007; there will be no changing of age class during the match season. Final results will be posted on March 1, 2008 at the
New York State 4-H Shooting Sports (Air Rifle) State Championship.

New shooters are always welcome, so if you get a new member during the season, just add them in as we go along. If a shooter misses a week, and is unable to make it up, we will use their lowest scores to fill the void for their individual ranking. However, team scores will only come from the top four scores shot for the week.
