Banquet & Auction Report

A record attendance of 311 supporters gathered at the Holiday Inn in Saratoga Springs, NY on April 17, 2010 for the 11th Annual NYS 4-H Shooting Sports Recognition Banquet & Auction.  The NYS 4-H Shooting Sports Banquet & Auction is an annual event that celebrates the accomplishments of volunteers, staff and educational programs while raising the vast majority of funding needed to operate and continue this important statewide 4-H program.  Thanks to many generous donations, excellent sponsors, outstanding product support, and highly supportive attendees, the 2010 Banquet & Auction was the most successful event NYS 4-H Shooting Sports has held to date.  continued...>

New York State 4-H Shooting Sports Heads to the 2010 SHOT Show!

The 2010 SHOT Show – the largest shooting industry gathering in the world will be held in Las Vegas, Nevada from January 19 – 22, 2010 at the Sands Convention Center.  This annual event is sponsored by the National Shooting Sports Foundation.  The NYS 4-H Shooting Sports Program will once again attend this great event and for the second consecutive year host a booth that introduces exhibitors, media representatives and attendees to the New York and National 4-H Shooting Sports Programs. Complete story and updates here - New pictures are now online!...>

The Winter Regional 4-H Shooting Sports Workshop

February 19, 20, and 21, 2010

What: The New York, New Hampshire, New Jersey and Vermont 4-H Shooting Sports Programs’ Annual Winter Workshop will certify volunteer leaders as 4-H Shooting Sports Instructors. The workshop will feature the following disciplines (based on a minimum enrollment of five participants): Air Pistol, Archery, Air Pistol, Archery, Coordinator, Living History, Muzzle Loading, Rifle, and Shotgun. Adults will be certified to teach the applicable discipline to youth participating in formal 4-H Shooting Sports Programs and in camp situations. Each state maintains its own standards for certification that may exceed those established by the National 4-H Shooting Sports Committee. Participants will be able to complete requirements in only one discipline. All equipment will be supplied. The workshop adheres to all National 4-H Shooting Sports curriculum standards.

When: February 19, 20 & 21. Training begins on Friday at 6:00 p.m. and concludes on
Sunday at 2:30 p.m. Registration is due by February 11, 2010.

Where: The workshop will be held at the 4-H Training Center, Middle Line Road, Ballston Spa, NY.
