Kyle Donnan 4-H Shooting Sports Teen Ambassador to Represent
4-H at SHOT Show

Kyle Donnan of Galway, New York has been selected as one of four 4-H Shooting Sports Teen Ambassadors from across the United States to attend the 2009 SHOT Show in Orlando Florida, January 13 – 18. The four girls from Colorado, and Nevada will be joining Kyle and Tim Muzzey of Vermont. All four are active 4-H Shooting Sports participants in their home states. They will be sharing their experiences with shooting industry and conservation leaders at the nation’s largest shooting, hunting, outdoor industry trade show. 2009 will mark the 31st annual event which is sponsored by the National Shooting Sports Foundation.
Kyle Donnan is the son of Joanne and Hume Donnan is a senior at Galway High School. Kyle enjoys all the shooting sports disciplines however he has excelled in Muzzleloading. He has represented 4-H at the National Muzzleloading Rifle Association shoots in Friendship Indiana and currently holds the position of Junior Field Representative with the NMLRA. He is a certified 4-H Shooting Sports instructor promoting the values of shooting, from the backyard to the Olympics.
Kyle is a leader in the 4-H Dairy project and the Science Engineering and Technology initiative. He is a member of the 4-H Youth Development Program Committee where he
represents older youth and their programs in Saratoga County.
The SHOT Show is a gathering of shooting industry leaders, including firearms to related equipment, clothing and educational programs and it is open to the media and businesses from across the world. It is expected that there will be over 750,000 square feet of exhibits, not including isles and walkways. The 4-Hers will share what they have learned in 4-H Shooting Sports and the importance of this program in youth development. They will also participate in the annual media day to learn about and shoot new equipment and meet outdoor writers from across the world.
The Ambassadors will be under the supervision of volunteer leaders and 4-H staff working at the National 4-H Shooting Sports exhibit. Attending the event from New York will be Russ Lehr of Saratoga Springs, a veteran volunteer for over 25 years; John Bowe, a 4-H Team Leader and recently named Assistant 4-H Shooting Sports Coordinator from Warren County; Kenyon Simpson, Shooting Sports Education Specialist and Bill Schwerd, Executive Director of Cornell Cooperative Extension of Saratoga County and the NYS 4-H Shooting Sports Coordinator.
