Annual Report - 2008

Program Goals:

The Albany County 4-H Shooting Sports program will:

Continue to increase youth participation

Provide additional training opportunities for volunteers

Secure an outdoor site for air rifle

Continue to expand inventory of shooting sports equipment and supplies.

2008 Highlights:

  • Forty nine youth and ten adult volunteers participated in program.
  • Overall increase of youth attendance by 20%.
  • Three outdoor archery sessions offered.
  • One indoor air rifle session offered.
  • Two Living History project days offered.
  • Over 650 people visited 4-H Shooting Gallery at the Altamont Fair.
  • Added three genesis bows to equipment inventory.
  • Two youth participated in the NYS Shoot in Chemung County.
  • Established a county-wide shooting sports club.
