2008 Program Goals:

The Greene County 4-H Shooting Sports program will provide youth with instruction and skill-building in archery and natural resource conservation.

The goal for the 2008 program is to increase the number of archery programs in offered by Greene County 4-H to two six-week archery programs.

2008 Highlights:

  • 4-H staff member became a certified archery instructor in February of 2008.
  • Greene County 4-H offered two archery programs in 2008:
    • A six-week, indoor archery program was offered at the Catskill Community Center during the winter.
    • A six week, outdoor archery program was offered at the Agroforestry Resource Center during the summer.
  • The 4-H archery instructor and his wife, who is a 4-H club leader will be starting a year-round archery club in the 2009 4-H year.  This club will participate in the State Shoot and other regional and state events.
  • A total of 17 youth were served by the 4-H archery program in 2008.  Twelve young people participated in the winter program and nine youth participated in the summer program.  Three youth participated in both the winter and summer programs.
