Fall 4-H Shooting Sports Training

The University of Vermont 4-H Shooting Sports Program in cooperation with New York, New Hampshire and Maine 4-H Shooting Sports will host a workshop to certify volunteer leaders in either archery, muz-zleloader, pistol, rifle, shotgun, or hunting. Minimum enrollments are required in order to offer each discipline. Participants will be certified to teach one specific discipline to youth participating in a formal 4-H Shooting Sports Program. All Vermont participants must be current 4-H volunteers. Each state maintains it’s own standards for certification which may exceed those established by the National Committee. Outside of Vermont be sure to check requirements with your state coordinator.

WHEN: August 27-29, 2010
Training begins on Friday at 6:00pm and concludes on Sunday at 1:00pm.
Registration is due by August 13, 2010.

WHERE: Kehoe Conservation Camp in Castleton, VT. A map and directions will be sent with confirmation.

WHO: This training is for current 4-H volunteers and those interested in becoming instructors. Teen leaders 14 years and older are welcome. .

TRAINING: All sessions will be conducted in the 4-H way - “learn by doing.”

COST: The registration fee is $50 for Vermont 4-H Leaders and $70 for others. This includes food, lodging, and materials. We have received support for this training from the Vermont State 4-H Foundation and Federal Cartridge. Additional scholar-ships may be available from county 4-H foundations.

LODGING: Lodging will be in cabins at the camp. There are motels in the area if you wish to stay off site.

REGISTRATION: Registration form and full payment ($50 or $70) must be received by August 13, 2010. Please note that deposits are not refundable if cancellation is made after August 13, 2010.
